Tigers-Mets start time: Rain delays from Citi Field
The winless New York Mets and undefeated Detroit Tigers were scheduled to play at 7:10 p.m. ET on Tuesday.
However, the start of the game was delayed due to inclement weather in Queens.

UPDATE 9:10 p.m. ET: Tuesday’s game has been officially rescheduled for Thursday, April 4, at 1:10 p.m. ET.
Both teams had a planned day off on Thursday. They’ll conclude the series then.
ORIGINAL: At this point, we just know that the game has been postponed. As of the initial intended start time, no new start time has been specified.
Fortunately, Mets supporters have a sense of humor. The top response on the Mets’ official tweet regarding the delay stated, “Please postpone the season indefinitely.” It received nearly 140 likes.
WxMets, a Mets weather-related Twitter account, shared a storm radar with the promise of a break in the rain soon.
If the game begins on Tuesday, Adrian Houser is expected to take the mound for the Mets. The Tigers will look to Casey Mize, who has not won a start since 2021. He missed the entire 2023 season after having Tommy John surgery in June 2022.
Due to inclement weather, New York’s season opener versus the Brewers was postponed one day. It turned out that fans were allowed one more day before their dreams for a successful start to the 2024 season were shattered. The Mets were swept by Milwaukee this weekend.
On Monday, the series versus the Tigers began poorly. Each side was scoreless through nine frames, then Detroit scored five runs in extra innings to secure the shutout.
