For the Steelers and Head Coach Mike Tomlin, the season has been
interesting, and there is still talk about his future.
Tomlin, who is in his 17th season, is the head coach with the longest career in
the NFL and has never had a losing campaign. Even if Pittsburgh won its final
three games to qualify for the playoffs, there is still talk that Tomlin might not play in 2024.
The Steelers want to extend Tomlin’s contract, according to a Pro Football
Talk story. However, he hasn’t made a decision yet and want to speak with his
family following the season. Tomlin’s current contract has one more year left
on it, and he has never signed an extension before the end of a contract.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter and Ron Cook of the Pittsburgh Post-
Gazette, “he has a year left on his deal.” Additionally, some league observers
think Mike Tomlin may ultimately choose to take a leave of absence, similar to
what Sean Payton did. Consider taking a year off. This is all under Mike
Tomlin’s control, not the Pittsburgh Steelers’. He won’t be let go. He’s going to
stay, but only if he wants to. If, however, he chooses to walk, then that’s a whole other story.”
FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer concurred that Tomlin will make the choice to return to Pittsburgh the following season.
“Mike Tomlin, there were requests a few weeks ago for his removal. “People,
are you kidding me?” Glazer stated via Cook on Fox. “He’s never experienced a
season of defeat. Mike Tomlin will have the final say on whether or not to return to the Steelers.”
On November 12 against the Ravens, Watson sustained a shoulder injury that
ended his season. However, according to Stefanski, Watson is recovering well
from surgery and should be back on the field in the spring.
“This spring, I’m sure he’ll be ready to go,” Stefanski stated, per
Cleveland.com. “He is biting into the bit.”
“Correct,” Stefanski responded when asked if he was heading into the
offseason with Watson as the starting quarterback.
When asked if Watson and Flacco might be on the same team the next season,
Stefanski replied that general manager Andrew Berry should answer that question.
In this offseason, “I’d leave all those things up to, certainly, Andrew,” Stefanski
remarked. “Let me say this regarding Joe. For this football team, Joe was
fantastic. He worked so hard and battled
On Saturday, after the Browns’ playoff loss to the Texans, Flacco talked about
his streak of late-season success. Although Flacco, 38, and the Browns have
some business to settle this offseason, the former Ravens quarterback
expressed his desire to play on and liked his time in Cleveland. He did not
completely rule out coming back to support Watson.
“Listen, I adore this place and everything we’re going through right now, from
the emotions of the game to being so happy to be in this situation to coming up
empty,” Flacco remarked. That is my mental location. attempting to take it all
in and give it some time to settle.”
The starting quarterback Joe Burrow missed a lot of training camp because of
injuries, and the Bengals have begun 0-2 the last two seasons.
Prior to the commencement of the following season, Burrow is anticipated to
fully recuperate from wrist surgery. In an effort to prevent another poor start,
head coach Zac Taylor stated he will closely examine the Bengals’ off-season
practices regardless of Burrow’s timeline.
“We need to take a close look at it and evaluate it,” Taylor stated, as reported
by Bengals.com’s Geoff Hobson. How can we get off to a quicker start than we did the previous two years?
“Whether it’s altering the way we do things or starting 0-2 and putting
ourselves in a hole fairly early, those are all discussions we’ll have as we move
forward because that’s certainly not the start we’re aiming for. That’s
something we need to assess; it’s not something we need to do right now.
However, we must complete this task within the next six months. Make sure
we allow our team to get off to a quick start.”
