Mercedes has to pick up speed immediately, as Lewis Hamilton has expressed
frustration about his “worst start” to an F1 season. The 39-year-old has
struggled in 2024, finishing no higher than sixth. George Russell, on the other
hand, has outqualified his teammate in every Grand Prix thus far.
Hamilton was forced to retire from the Australian Grand Prix before the
halfway point due to a major engine issue, which prevented him from finishing
the race. With Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz finishing one and two, his
future team, Ferrari, had an ideal weekend.
Following the race, Hamilton claimed that his dismal beginning was making
him “difficult on the spirit” and that it was understandable that the British
driver was counting down the days until he could join Ferrari in 2019. The
driver market is anticipated to be more affected by that move, as Mercedes is
rumored to be considering a bold move to have Max Verstappen replace
Hamilton in the upcoming season.
It is stated that the accuser of Christian Horner wishes to go back to work for
Red Bull, no matter how her appeal is handled.
A three-week investigation by an external KC absolved Horner of any
wrongdoing, despite the suspended female colleague’s accusations of
inappropriate behavior.
After being placed on paid leave by Red Bull Racing, she filed an appeal of that decision.
According to reports, the woman has also complained about Horner to the
FIA, which oversees Formula One.
According to The Independent, the woman wants to go back to work at Red
Bull.
“She is in it for the long haul and remains resolute,” a source is quoted as
saying. She wants to handle the situation in secret, which is why she is
currently holding her council.
Max Verstappen may be leaving Red Bull to join Mercedes, but Sebastian
Vettel claims he has “no sporting motive” to do so.
Despite the turmoil that has surrounded the company in recent weeks, the
four-time world champion thinks Red Bull is still the ideal home for Verstappen.
“There is of course a lot of dissatisfaction at the moment, but I think from a
sporting viewpoint there is now no need for him to think about anything else,”
Vettel responded when asked about Verstappen’s potential transfer to
Mercedes by sport.de.
He also discussed Lewis Hamilton’s transfer to Ferrari, which has been a
major factor in the rumors that Verstappen may be joining Mercedes.
Vettel went on, “I was expecting that another report would surface from ‘I
don’t know where,’ claiming that it isn’t occurring, but it was proven.
“I immediately responded to him to congratulate him. Like many others, I was
taken aback by this of course, given his longstanding relationship with
Mercedes. [But] there is also the desire or impulse to perhaps try something else.
