The Pittsburgh Steelers signed quarterback Russell Wilson at the very beginning of free agency back in March, and it was revealed shortly after that several veterans on the team were vital in the recruitment of Wilson to join the Steelers.

The Steelers wrapped their first day of mandatory minicamp on Tuesday, and Wilson was asked about one of his new targets who undoubtedly will be happy to have him under center – George Pickens.

“There’s only so many people in the world that can do what [George] can do,” Wilson said. “I’ve been fortunate to play around some special receivers and he’s that guy. he’s definitely one of those for sure.”

Wilson also made note of Pickens’ explosiveness in the deep passing game and his ability to take a slant to the house, like he did against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 16 last season.

The Steelers’ success largely wagers on Pickens and the quarterback play. If the third-year receiver and Wilson find early chemistry, the offense can flow nicely and help Pittsburgh win games.
